NO
pop in and paint anytime! If it’s a special occasion or a
group booking then please call to do a ‘reserve a table’
booking
How long will it take?
That
will depend on what you are painting, allow 2+ hours (that
will vary with small children in company).
What are your hours?
Hours are posted on the website…and on the voicemail.
PLEASE NOTE we do reserve the right to close 1 hour early IF
no painters are in the studio.
Monday - Closed,
Tues & Wed 11am-7pm,
Thurs & Fri 11am-9pm,
Saturday 10am-6pm,
Sunday 12pm-5pm
How does it work?
You
come on in…no appointment necessary (though you can reserve
a table if it’s a special get together)… there is a ‘studio
fee’ which covers your use of all the paint colours 80+,
your studio fee covers use of all of our supplies, brushes,
stencils, stamps, sponges etc… It also covers ‘US’ clear
glazing and firing your items! Adults: $10 Children: $8
Plus the cost of your pottery.
How much will it cost?
Will
depend on what you choose to paint! – You have your studio
fee plus the cost of your Bisque pieces which range from $4
- $80 with an average child item being $8…and adult $12, we
have hundred’s of choices…something for everyone!
Can I take my item home the sameday?
NO –
your item needs to dry, be clear glazed and fired in the
kiln. Pick up is generally 1 week from when you paint. We
can on occasion make exceptions to this depends on how much
paint you have put on to your item.
Is Creative Café suitable for Children?
Children love to paint! Creative Café is very
‘childfriendly’ but NOT childproof! You will need to watch
your children at all times.
Are the paints/glazes lead-free?
YES
– Creative Café uses only lead free paints and glazes.
Can I use the pieces?
YES
– foodsafe and totally usable. Top shelf of dishwasher safe
also! Though some people like to follow the ‘handpainted so
handwash’ rule of thumb!
Are you wheelchair accessible?
YES
– Parking, Ramps and Bathroom.
If I don’t finish my piece then what?
You
can return to finish your item at another time, there is a
WIP fee of $5. WIP is ‘work in progress’. You will need to
take your item home with you and store it safely. WIP rate
only applies if the piece is finished within 30 days of the
starting date.
Do we need painting clothing?
NO
all the underglazes/glazes are totally washable!
What if I forget to pick up my creation?
We
will hold your creation for 3 weeks after which Creative
Café is not responsible for loss or breakage.
Can I send somebody else to pick up my
finished items?
ONLY
if they know exactly what you painted, your pieces are
clearly marked with your names AND they have the receipt.
I have some old partially painted bisque can
I bring it in to finish and be fired?
Creative Café prefers to glaze and fire only items we have
for sale, we will on occasion fire outside work, that
depends on its age etc… you would need to bring them in for
us to evaluate.
We are having a small group and its
somebody’s birthday, can we bring a cake?
NO
food and pottery don’t mix, our private party room is
perfect for that and is based on party packages and party
fee’s. Contact us to get more
information.
Do you sell just the bisque without us
painting it in the studio?
YES
if you would like to purchase bisque come in and we will
assist you. Items that are NON dinnerware items can of
course be painted at home using Acrylic paints, which don’t
need to be glazed and fired.
Do you cater to large groups?
YES! We host lots of events for Schools, Guides/Scouts,
Sports Clubs, and senior homes… Red Hat Society groups
etc… If your event is too big we can always come to you!
Or you can rent our ‘pottery to go’ box… which gives you a
selection of colours, brushes etc… you then purchase the
bisque…. Go to your event and paint…bring the items back to
us for glazing/firing!
Do you offer group discounts for non-profit
organizations?
Yes
we have special pricing for schools, guides, and childcare
facilities, based on numbers and I.D.
Do you offer Fundraising opportunities?
Yes
we have lots of ideas to help you raise money for your
organization, call us for more details.
